HGH Products

It is not difficult to find a human growth hormone (HGH) product on the market today. These enhancers are widely available through retail health stores, as well as through distributors on the Internet. But beware, not all HGH products are the same, so the responsibility lies with the consumer to research what they are purchasing.

Many marketers are selling "imposter" pills and sprays, claiming that they provide the same benefits as prescription HGH. HGH is only bioavailable (ability of a substance that can be absorbed and used by the body) in the injectable form. It is injected into your bloodstream. Injectable HGH is only available with a prescription from your doctor, also, the prescription form of HGH has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for anti-aging uses, and the athletic benefits of HGH is a myth.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) says if you are tempted to buy any over-the-counter product that:

  • 1) Claims to contain HGH or to boost the body's production of it
  • 2) Promises easy weight loss, an effortless increase in muscle mass, or other "too-good-to-be-true" benefits
  • 3) Or touts itself as an "anti-aging" shortcut to health and vitality

then exercise doubt, and check it out with your health care provider.

Also beware that not all people are good candidates for human growth hormone therapy. Those who suffer from diabetes or cancer, or those who have ever had cancer, are discouraged from using a HGH. Because human growth hormone may induce a state of insulin resistance, people should be observed for evidence of glucose intolerance. Human growth hormone should be used with caution in people with diabetes mellitus or a family history of diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism, intracranial hypertension, and in women who are pregnant or nursing.

The FDA has approved HGH products by different manufacturers for multiple indications in children with short stature and in adults.
